Mobile robot with arm "MobileArm-Scara"

Description

MobileArm-Scara is a mobile robot with a manipulator arm for industrial transportation applications. It consists of a platform type MP-L655 and a 4-axis scara-robotarm developed by Neobotix. For platform specification please see MP-L655.

The scara-arm has been developed for industrial transportation tasks using mobile platforms. It consists of a vertical linear axis followed by three rotational axes. With this kind of kinematics pick-and-place operations are easy to accomplish. The mechanical construction is rather robust so that payloads of up to 20 kg can be handled. The drive electronics is integrated in the arm housings so that there is no extra rack on the platform. The movements of the robot are controlled by a platform PC that communicates with drive controllers via a CAN.
