This development board was designed with tree things is mind.
First, it serves as a programmer for all the CPU cards. It has a connector for the PC parallel port and with the associated programming software the user can dump boot-code to the CPU cards. This boot-code can than work as a FLASH programmer to program the rest of the program to FLASH or simply boot the rest of the code from the parallel port of the PC and then execute it.
Second, it is a general purpose development board for all CPU and extension cards. It contains a socket for a CPU card and two sockets for peripherial cards. All pins of the user-defined part of the connectors are connected to standard IDC connectors for easy access.
